Quito is approximately 2,850 metres above sea level and parts of Cotopaxi and Cajas are considerably higher. Take the first days gently, remain hydrated and consult your doctor before travel if you have relevant health concerns.
The car is collected in Quito and must be returned at the confirmed Cuenca station before the flight to Quito. One-way fees and exact station details will be shown or reconfirmed with the selected rental offer.
Main highways are generally paved, but mountain weather, fog, roadworks and occasional closures can increase journey times. Avoid driving after dark and follow current local advice.
The principal driver must meet the supplier’s age rules and present a valid driving licence, passport and credit card in the driver’s name. An International Driving Permit may be required depending on the licence country. A security deposit is normally blocked locally.
The Cuenca–Quito flight is subject to the airline’s live schedule and baggage allowance. The operating flight number and departure time can change and will be reconfirmed with the booking.
Cotopaxi and Cajas visits depend on weather, park access and local safety conditions. Itinerary order or activities may be adjusted when necessary. Bring warm layers, rain protection and suitable walking shoes.
