Dubai, Mountains and the Northern Emirates

Discover a different side of the United Arab Emirates on a journey combining modern Dubai with rugged mountains, desert landscapes, historic settlements and beaches beside two different coastlines.

Spend your first two nights in Dubai and explore the city without needing a rental car. Discover historic neighbourhoods beside Dubai Creek, visit modern Downtown Dubai or relax beside the Arabian Gulf.

Collect your rental car on Day 3 and leave the city behind. Travel into the Hajar Mountains to Hatta, where rocky peaks surround reservoirs, wadis and small settlements.

Continue through the mountains toward Fujairah and the UAE’s east coast. Visit historic sites, follow the coastline and experience the Gulf of Oman before travelling north through Khor Fakkan and the mountain landscapes of Sharjah.

Two nights in Ras Al Khaimah provide time to explore the coast and drive the spectacular mountain road to Jebel Jais. Complete the loop with a final night in Dubai before your departure.
